Project Background
The main problems faced by a certain railway bureau are low efficiency and safety hazards in the handling and loading of materials by switch machines. Due to the heavy weight and large volume of the switch machine, manual handling not only requires high labor intensity, but also poses a risk of collision and work-related injury. In addition, with the increase of train speed and load capacity, higher requirements have been put forward for the maintenance and installation accuracy of switch machines.
Solution
In response to the above issues, the railway bureau has introduced the Fuwei Intelligent visual positioning and grasping system. The system adopts advanced 2D vision technology and achieves precise positioning of the switch machine through multi camera data fusion algorithm. The system first captures different positions on the surface of the switch machine through a monocular camera to obtain accurate local positioning information; Then, using a self-developed high-precision calibration algorithm for multi camera points, the data from different positions are fused to obtain accurate position information for the entire switch machine; Finally, based on the hand eye calibration results, the coordinates are converted to the robot coordinate system and sent to the robot for grasping operations through TCP communication.
Application process and effect
During the project implementation process, the technical team of Fuwei Intelligent worked closely with the railway bureau to conduct in-depth research and analysis of the on-site environment, and customized the system design according to the actual situation. After a brief period of debugging and testing, the system was successfully put into use.
In the application process, the visual positioning and grasping system has shown excellent performance. The system can quickly and accurately identify and locate the switch machine, and accurately grasp it to the designated position. Compared with traditional manual handling, the operational efficiency of the system has been significantly improved, while reducing the risk of work-related injuries.
